Mainescape Garden Center

What a freeing new way to teach cold wax and oil at Mainescape Nursery and Garden Shop in Blue Hill, Maine in July 2023. A close group of artist friends attended my private Plein Air workshop ~ meaning "in the open air" ~ surrounded by gorgeous flowers! While the first day was sunny and warm under the shade of towering trees, the second day poured rain and we gratefully decamped to the "glass house" greenhouse. Imagine painting in a such rich, colorful setting completely surrounded by flowering plants! Many thanks to owners Don and Althea Paine for allowing us to be a part of their Mainescape for two days. It was a treat at break time to partake of their local garden veggies, sandwiches, pies and sodas, and my little dog Bella was delighted to meet their pooch and snack on dog treats. A good time was had by all.
